Are you a lone artistic vigilante? Are you part of a dynamic doodling duo? Are you part of a League of Doodlers?

I was re-reading the previous post topic about Superheroes and Teams, and it prompted me to wonder how many of us are trying to go at this whole creativity thing in a vacuum? Do you have a creative partner? Is there somebody in your life that you can call up at any time the muse hits you?

One of the most catalyzing ingredients in my creative life is the interaction I have with my creative partner. I know that I can call on this person at any time to bounce ideas off of, brainstorm, or critique my work. Most importantly, I know that when we “answer the call to action”, my creative partner is right there by my side all along the way. What if I want to go on a solo mission? That’s OK, too, because I know that the League of Doodlers is waiting for me when I get back into headquarters.

Exploring your creative superpowers can be thrilling, exhilirating, and a little scary all at the same time. So team up with someone. The call to action is now.

Now… Go Create Something!

I agree that we need to band… but we need to do it now!! If we are going to be a league of doodlers we must gather and choose a direction. A league must work together, and to do so we must meet. So let’s go out and create something… TOGETHER

I agree… and I disagree! I think that we need to break out of the old paradigms. Why should we let “schedules” get in the way of our creative urges. You may be available at 5pm, and I may be available at 5am. I think that we need to strech our preconceptions regarding “brainstorming”. This does not discount the value of a face-to-face gathering… but in its absence… we need to get *creative*.

I think ou missed my point. I have been working on my creative “urges”, but I still feel that two, three, or four heads are better than one. This whole justice league thing implies teamwork. We do fine going solo, but something more effective can be done as a team. I’m not suggesting weekly meetings. Just one good one to get us going, then a checks and balances to make sure that we are each doing our part within the TEAM. Brainstorming feeds off the group. It’s like e-mailing back and forth. It takes four days to have a conversation that could be better and more thorough in ten actual minutes. We need to be able to hear, feel and react, THEN ponder once everything has aired. In other words, let’s find ONE DAY… JUST ONE and get a good portion of us together. Then we’ll work at our HERO SKILLS in our own time. Long-winded enough? Phew!!

Don’t get me wrong… I agree that face to face, locked in room reeking of cigar smoke and whisky (oops… I went off on a tangent)… Yes. We should get together.
