I found this on C.C. Chapman’s blog (http://www.cc-chapman.com) and I thought it was a good fit for Ink ‘n Doodles Creative Workshop.

1. Keep a Notebook and Pencil on hand at all times.
2. The second key to creativity is to ask questions.
3. To become a creative genius, you must also be a voracious reader.
4. Seek out new experiences.
5. Become a whole-brain thinker.

Name Bego

I feel a little foolish, but the truth is, I carry around a discarded composition notebook and pen. My kids waste so many of those notebooks for science fairs and such, and use the first 20-30 pages and then throw it away when they get their grade. I carefully cut away the pages, paste an inspiring message over their title, and use it until it is full.

I can’t beleive what a difference it has made in my creativity, the least of which is being in a state of continuous awareness becasue I’m hauling it around.

It is filled with half-started poems, stories, scripts, grocery lists, phone numbers and random thoughts.
