I thought that this was a good article… as we step out of summer and crawl into fall a lot of us make (unconsciously?) mid-year resolutions. Maybe it relates back to when we would prepare to start a new school year? New school supplies, new classes, new *good* habits.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have everything run on autopilot? Chores, exercise, eating healthy and getting your work done just happening automatically. Unless they manage to invent robot servants, all your work isn’t going to disappear overnight. But if you program behaviors as new habits you can take out the struggle.

“Creativity, I believe, is inherent in all of us. We are the progeny of almighty God. God is defined in many ways. Most of all, he is The Creator.”

… help
… a break
…. an inspiration
It’s no mistake to anyone who has followed Ink ‘n Doodles Creative Workshop that the community and collaboration aspect of this site has been dwindling… rapidly. Now, my first reaction to comments was to get defensive and throw a rant right back at the commenter a-la “If you don’t like it… then do something about it!” Clearly the wrong approach.
This is a community that I started and history has proven that the community thrives when I am actively promoting and participating in it. It is no secret that that has been very hard for me to do lately.
I feel stretched in twenty directions and, unfortunately, community development time takes a hit. I have three incredible interviews (Beatnik Turtle, JC hutchins, and CC Chapman) already recorded, but I don’t have the time to edit them and post them to the podcast feed. Actually my Ink ‘n Doodles “to-do list” is about two pages long (no kidding!). But I can’t bring myself to put aside other priorities and so the list keeps growing and i go to sleep at night with an ever growing guilty feeling. (yes, I am taking the time to write this, obviously, but trust me that something else more important is not getting done!)
Yes… I know that I am whining. Forgive me. I guess that I am taking the chance to write this post to let you all know that I love this community (not many people participating in the forums… but there are currently hundreds of subscibers to the podcast), but I don’t know how much more I can give to it… and that really bums me out.
So, what do you think? Do I scratch it? Do I let it fade? Do I fight for it for all it’s worth? What about the podcast? Do I let it podfade?
I need help.
